Gold Country Communities Society is a non-profit destination marketing organization. We currently work with the municipalities of Ashcroft, Cache Creek, Clinton, Lillooet, Logan Lake, Lytton as well as TNRD E, I, and J. We strive to increase tourism in Gold Country and add the economic development of our region. We are governed by a board of directors that includes two representatives from each local government area. Gold Country was incorporated in 1991.
The Gold Country website lists all businesses free of charge on this one stop vacation planning tool. Each community is represented with attractions, accommodations, dining and business listings.
Visitors can plan their trip and find all the information to truly enjoy themselves in Gold Country. Includes an event calendar, social media links and search by map feature.
Gold Country produces a Visitor Guide that highlights our history, attractions and events. 39,000 copies of the Visitor Guide are distributed throughout BC, Western Canada and Washington State. Accommodation listings are free in the guide for all stakeholders and Gold Country offers affordable advertising opportunities.
Our Trail Guide features and focuses on all season trails in our area. A very popular guide, Gold Country Trail Guide is an excellent resource for all outdoor adventurers.
Like the Visitor Guide it is distributed to visitor centres, museums and businesses throughout Western Canada and Washington State.
The map of Gold Country and the routes that connect our communities has been conveniently printed onto tear-away pad maps to distribute to travelling visitors, making route planning easy.
Phase one of Gold Country Geocaching programs was released in 2009 and the popular program introduced Phase Two in 2011. Gold Country maintains 150 geocaches and hosts a geocaching
event each year that continues to draw thousands of visitors. The Gold Country Geotour program highlights every area of Gold Country and can be viewed at goldtrail.com
Gold Country represents all stakeholders at provincial and national tradeshows. We promote, inform and encourage visitors to our region.
A resource of thousands of photos that are available to stakeholders to use in promotional materials. If you are creating an ad, updating your website or looking for the right
picture for Facebook, the image Bank is an indispensable tool for you. Each community is represented and photographs are easily accessible and free of charge.
Short videos of activities, communities, events, etc. can be found on the Gold Country YouTube channel. These videos can be shared to promote visitation to the Gold Country region.
Gold Country is active in most platforms of social media. This provides the opportunity for stakeholders to leverage additional exposure through Gold Country’s social
media marketing. Stakeholders can work co-operatively with Gold Country and gain exposure daily.
To positively, ethically and professionally promote the pursuit of tourism, related economic development and the necessary technology to improve the economy of member communities; encouraging and supporting a strong local and regional sustainable tourism industry.
