Merritt’s Law Enforcement Charity Hockey Challenge

February 21, 2020 - February 23, 2020

Merritt’s Law Enforcement Charity Hockey Challenge is happening again this coming year! On February 21st-22nd-23rd, 2020, Merritt RCMP will be hosting their 7th annual Law Enforcement Charity Hockey Challenge. The previous six years of this challenge have raised a total of approximately $93,000 for BC Children’s Hospital Foundation! This is an all skill levels welcomed, non-competitive tournament, the main goals are to have fun, meet new people and raise money for BC Children’s Hospital Foundation! We are looking for teams interested to join the fun again this year! The entry fees are $100 per player with a $400 non-refundable deposit by January 1st to reserve your team’s spot. Each team must have 1 female skater on ice at all times. We also encourage each team to bring a silent auction item to donate, perhaps a unique item that reflects your region, to help raise more money for the children’s hospital foundation. A few years ago, we opened the challenge to all first responders. While we don’t mind a few police-friendly civilians joining in, we like to see a bigger number of law enforcement employees / first responders than civilians, on each team. If you are interested, please let me know ASAP. Last year we had 10 teams with many planning to return so spaces may be limited this year and we need to decide how much ice to book. Also, if you have a few players that are interested but not enough to make a team, there are usually teams looking to add a few players and we may be able help find you a team! Thanks and hope to see you in February!
