🐱🐔 KITTY & THE ROOSTER
Kitty & The Rooster is a surf rock n’ roll duo from Vancouver. Their songs have clever lyrics and their show is a fun & sweaty spectacle. They are a duo that sounds like a full band. Kitty (Jodie Ponto) plays a stand-up cocktail drum kit and The Rooster (Noah Walker) plays electric guitar & bass at the same time.
🪗🎺 JACK GARTON
Enchanting audiences in Western Canada and the USA for many years as a musician and theater artist, Jack Garton’s show is a rocking, sultry and fresh blend of roots, blues and doo-wop. Featured recently in Western Canada Theatre’s production of Chelsea Hotel, and fresh from recording a new full-length album with Vancouver surf legends Kitty and the Rooster, Jack is thrilled and honoured to be presenting his songs to live audiences again.
🎙️ SAMMY VOLKOV
Lifelong record collecting has left Sammy with a facility for old-fashioned melodies combined with lyrics that are entirely present and personal. Imagine if Roy Orbison and Townes Van Zandt co-wrote a pop song – weird – but it kinda works. Sammy’s debut full-length album “Be Alright” is an 11-song collection that combines pure twang with Brian Wilson-esque ambition, all tied together by a voice as supple and entrancing as any heard in recent memory.
