Located adjacent to the Drylands Arena, the Curling Club building is owned by the Village of Ashcroft, but is operated by the Ashcroft and District Curling Club. The arena has four sheets of ice and a mezzanine for events. Curling season begins mid-October and continues through to early March.

The shell serves as protection for the snail's soft body and can be withdrawn entirely inside when threatened.Great Pond Snails are primarily aquatic creatures, preferring still or slow-moving freshwater bodies.
