Clinton Rodeo Weekend and Western Heritage Week
May 1st, 2007 Clinton Rodeo (and Heritage Week) Home of true western heritage and steeped in ranching history and culture – Clinton hosts the Annual Western Heritage Week; welcoming you to join them in celebration of a proud and colourful lineage. The week begins with the beloved Annual Ball, held on Saturday evening of the Victoria Day Weekend. This respected event mixes a love of the past and joy of the present, as it brings together friends from far and wide for an evening of delicious food, fantastic music, A-one entertainment and endless laughter – all in the grand style of the gold rush and ranching history. Other events of the week include the Old Timers’ Tea and Cowboy Concert, just to name a few. The week of celebration tops off with a weekend of good old-fashioned western fun and frolic. Saturday begins with the best of small-town – the colourful Rodeo Parade. Streets lined with happy faces; there to enjoy the beautiful floats, silly clowns, bands, horses and treats for kids of all ages. Parade excitement is followed by the very popular Lions’ ‘Beef on a Bun’ – great stick-to-your-ribs western eatin’. Then it’s off to the Rodeo Grounds for fun in the great outdoors – the BCRA sanctioned Clinton Rodeo. This ever popular event includes competitions in Bareback Bronc, Saddle Bronc and Bull Riding; as well as Steer Wrestling, Calf Roping, Team Roping and Barrel Racing. Classes include peewee, junior, men’s, women’s and team events – so your favorite competitor is bound to be there to thrill and entertain. Follow the day’s rodeo events with the 4H steak dinner – then dance the night away at with great toe-tapping music at Saturday night’s Barn Dance. Don your best western duds, and enjoy a great night with friends, both old and new. Sunday winds up the weekend of entertainment, with a delicious pancake breakfast, and the completion of all the rodeo competition events. Looking to get away for some great western fun ??
