Gold Country gets a 'Face Lift'
Aug 1st, 2007

As the tourism season reaches its midpoint Gold Country remains hard at work on projects designed to promote our communities and region.
Some recent visible signs of progress include several signage updates.

The Village of Clinton, in conjunction with Gold Country, rebuilt the damaged portion of the sign at their north pullout including two new information panels.

The District of Logan Lake supported the update initiative by moving their signage panels, now located at the Shovel and Haul Truck Info Centre and is in the process of updating the information panels. “Now Gold Country signage is the first thing visitors see as they pull in and park,” says Director Bernice Molyneux, manager of the Logan Lake Info Centre. “The new location definitely attracts more interest.”

The Village of Lytton has relocated Gold Country signage to the Scuppa Creek Rest Stop on Highway No. 1 about 8 kms south of the turnoff into Lytton and the visitor pullout north of Cache Creek recently concluded its facelift with new information panels, a thorough cleaning and a new paint job.

Keep an eye out for progress at the Ashcroft/Red Hills and Spences Bridge rest areas, as well as, future signage locations in Lillooet, Merritt and 70 Mile House. The ‘$100 View’ Lookout and Rest Stop on the Savona hill received Gold Country signage last season.

Signage is but one avenue of support provided by Gold Country to the local and regional tourism industry. Watch for upcoming announcements and new dreams on the horizon.
